Artist’s Statement
I studied art and design at Bournemouth & Poole college of Art & Design following from a good grounding at Swindon College of Art. As a child I had been fortunate that the school I attended had an incredibly strong three-dimensional bias with professional ceramic and sculpture studios, carpentry and plastics workshops; even the fully equipped metalwork workshop had its own forge.
Having spent over 30 yearsin art and design I now produce a variety of sculpture from my home in Torbay, situated in beautiful south Devon.
I use a variety of materials including clays, wood, metal, glass and ceramic.
I like to produce sculpture which can be enjoyed from all angles and evokes the energy of movement and motion. I take my inspiration from personal experiences and the world around me, nature, music, love and light. And I find great joy in turning my ideas into reality.
Sculptures from both my dance and flight collections are currently on display in galleries in Totnes and Torbay.
Commissions for bespoke sculpture are warmly welcomed.
