Artist’s Statement
I have been a figurative sculptor for over 30 years and been continually represented by galleries and agents both here and in Europe.
I am inspired by poetry and nature and it is through the figure that I endeavour to capture the poetical interpretations of the forces of nature and the natural world, hoping to suggest an emotional connection between them both.
In other pieces I try to show how alienated man has become from nature and the consequences of his folly both on the environment and, psychologically on himself.
I work in clay and occasionally carved stone. My work ranges from the full figure to portrait busts, both real and imagined. These are cast in either bronze, concrete or resin. As an Artist I have received multiple awards, including the Anthony J Lester Art Critic’s Award. I am an elected member of the Bath Society of Artists, associate Member of Society of Graphic Fine Artists and my work can be seen regularly at the Mall Galleries, London.
