This new course will focus on carving bold raised letters into stone. On day one you will begin by looking at raised letter design design and most particuarly Neuland Script.
We will then design our letters to form a short word four or five letter word in this bold chunky style where the letters are raised out of the stone rather than cut into it. Then we will transfer the letters to the stone and begin the process of carving them out.
On Day two we will be doing a lot more carving and refining of our letter shapes as well as flattening and texturing the background to make the letters stand out. Tea and coffee facilities, use of tools and materials are all included. 10am till 5pm each day. Please bring a packed lunch.
