Artist’s Statement
Having had a lifelong interest in three-dimensional art, I developed a second career as a sculptor following retirement from a hectic career as a hospital consultant in Intensive Care Medicine. I had spent 30 years involved in the development of the specialty in the UK and am a Distinguished Member of the
Intensive Care Society.
With such a background it is perhaps not surprising that my sculptural work is both detailed and figurative being human, animal and botanical.
Sculptures are in bronze, wood, wire and mixed media but I am always prepared to experiment with other materials. My work is quite varied and sometimes presented as pairs.
Exhibitions have been mainly in Devon but also at Chelsea Harbour, London and in France. Work is spread nationally from Cornwall to the Shetland Isles and internationally with examples in the USA, Hong Kong and Monaco.
